There’s little I love more than flicking through a shiny, new coffee table book. Not only do they say a lot about your taste and interests but they are also beautiful works of art in their own right. With glorious images, snappy prose and tons of ideas and inspiration, these handsome tomes will delight any lover of art, design and travel, while also adding serious style to even the best-dressed rooms. From a new interiors bible to a sizzling Matisse drama, scroll on for my favourite book releases of 2025. Tell me yours via DM or comments below.

Paris by Paris, £195 (hb), Late Feb

Assouline’s latest glossy travel title explores the history, arts, fashion, culture and style of 20th-century Paris. Over seven chapters, you’ll journey through the glorious days of the Belle Epoque, the Roaring Twenties and the revived intellectual and artistic creativity of the post-war era. Expect rarely seen photographs, including some of the 2024 Paris Olympics, alongside a timeline of the city’s key moments and an insightful foreword by the French writer, literary critic and presenter Frédéric Beigbeder.

Turner and Constable: Art, Life, Landscape, Nicola Moorby, £25 (hb), 11 March

This new book by Nicola Moorby offers a fresh perspective on the art, life and personalities of Turner and Constable, the pivotal 18th-century British landscape painters routinely seen as polar opposites. It is published to coincide with the 250th anniversaries of Turner’s (2025) and Constable’s (2026) births. Also marking the occasion is a highly anticipated exhibition at Tate Britain exploring their intertwined lives and legacies. It’s not to be missed.

Madame Matisse, Sophie Haydock, 18.99 (hb), 6 March

Madame Matisse is a sizzling tale of love, loss and betrayal, set against the tumultuous backdrop of the 1930s art movement in France. At its heart are three sidelined women: the muse, wife and daughter of painter Henri Matisse. Based on a true story, it casts new light on the people, places, artworks and events that shaped the lives of these three extraordinary women.

New English Interiors, Elizabeth Metcalfe, £28 (hb), now published

The loveliest book featuring the loveliest interiors of 22 of England’s most exciting creatives, including Lucinda Chambers, Cath Kidston and Fee Greening. Rooms rich with colour, pattern, jazzy wallpapers and bold, vibrant fabrics abound.

Natural Living by Design, Melissa Penfold, £35 (hb), April/May 2025
